Leading Innovation in Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)

At MALÅ we manage innovation at every level. For us innovation does not happen by accident, it is our passion and a necessity for profitable growth.

MALÅ began as an ambitious research program to develop mineral exploration survey equipment in the 1930’s. Since then, we have continued to focus our efforts on innovation in areas where we can make a significant contribution, achieving industry recognition as a market leader in the design and manufacture of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) solutions.

Today, MALÅ is a privately held company with products that range from non-destructive testing (NDT) and concrete imaging, to utility detection and mapping, and to geophysical investigations, including borehole surveys.

Balancing innovation and application in Ground Penetrating Radar

Often innovationInnovation-tech.jpg  and invention precede the application of the technology, or worse the technology never finds a market. MALÅ utilizes an Open Innovation approach to R&D where internal ideas are supplemented by external ideas solicited through a close relationship with partners and users. These ideas feed the technology insourcing funnel where they are researched and developed for both existing and new markets, placing MALÅ at the leading edge of both innovation and application of GPR. Very important to this process is focus - our efforts are only focused on innovations where we can make a significant contribution.

MALÅ's passion for innovation and solution driven approach has made a numbers of "industry firsts" possible, such as Borehole GPR, all-digital GPR, flexible Rough Terrain Antennas, parallel processing, and the first fully integrated GPR Array with the MALÅ MIRA System. As the solution footprint expands, MALÅ's R&D team continues to innovate and adapt the technology to meet the challenges of these new markets.
