MALÅ Shielded Antennas

MALÅ Shielded Antennas for medium to high resolution surveys

In Brief:

The MALÅ Shielded Antennas are primarily used for medium to high resolution surveys. The shielded antenna construction makes the antennas especially suitable for urban investigations or at sites with a lot of background noise. The MALÅ Shielded Antennas are modular, with the MALÅ Shielded Antenna Electronics, pulling handles and measuring wheels being interchangeable between the different antennas. This reduces the cost of ownership and any subsequent system expansion. MALÅ Shielded Antennas are operated with the MALÅ X3M or the MALÅ ProEx Control Unit.

The design ensures that the transmitted radar energy is only emitted from the bottom of the antenna housing, where it is in contact with the ground and protects the receiver element from external signals (noise) from directions other than the bottom of the housing, where it is located.

MALÅ 100 MHz Shielded Antenna:

The 100 MHz antenna is the lowest shielded antenna frequency commercially available. It is used for medium to low resolution. Suitable for geological and geotechnical applications.

MALÅ 250 MHz Shielded Antenna:

The MALÅ 250 MHz Shielded Antenna is a general purpose antenna. It is used for medium penetration depth and medium resolution. It is commonly used for utility detection, UST and void detection.

MALÅ 500 MHz Shielded Antenna:

MALÅ Separable Shielded Antennas:

The MALÅ Separable Shielded Antennas offer the ability to separate the transmitter antenna from the receiver antenna. This feature enables the user to study material parameters or perform special surveys, e.g. tomographic surveys. These antennas lend themselves to optimize the antenna separation and vary polarization patterns in order to better distinguish / characterize targets. The MALÅ Separable Shielded Antennas are operated by the MALÅ ProEx Control Unit and its coaxial module and may freely be configured as a multi-channel/multi-frequency array-type of system.
