Antennas

There are five major types of RAMAC/GPR antennas:

MALÅ GeoScience is also developing custom designed radar systems for special applications

Borehole Antennas »

HF Shielded Antennas »

1.2 GHz HF Shielded Antenna
1.2 GHz HF Shielded Antenna The 1.2 GHz antenna is a high resolution antenna used for high quality radar measurements, with the deepest penetration in the HF range. It is commonly used for concrete, reinforcement studies and for road mapping and quality assurance.
1.6 GHz HF Shielded Antenna
1.6 GHz HF Shielded Antenna The 1.6 GHz antenna is a high resolution antenna used for high quality radar measurements, with medium penetration in the HF range. It is commonly used for concrete, reinforcement studies and for road mapping and quality assurance.
2.3 GHz HF Shielded Antenna
2.3 GHz HF Shielded Antenna The 2.3 GHz antenna is a high resolution antenna used for the high quality radar measurements; it offers the highest resolution for shallow investigations in the HF range. It is commonly used for concrete, reinforcement studies and for road mapping and quality assurance.

Shielded Antennas »

100 MHz Shielded Antenna
100 MHz Shielded Antenna The 100 MHz antenna is the lowest shielded antenna frequency commercially available. It is used for medium to low resolution. Suitable for geological and geotechnical applications.
250 MHz Shielded Antenna
250 MHz Shielded Antenna The shielded 250 MHz antenna is a general purpose antenna. It is used for medium penetration depth and medium resolution. It is commonly used for utility detection, UST and void detection.
500 MHz Shielded Antenna
500 MHz Shielded Antenna The shielded 500 MHz antenna is probably the most popular general purpose GPR antenna ever built. It delivers medium to shallow penetration depth and good resolution. Most commonly used for utility detection and road surveys.
800 MHz Shielded Antenna
800 MHz Shielded Antenna The shielded 800MHz antenna delivers very good resolution for shallow investigations. Commonly used for road mapping and concrete investigations.

Unshielded Antennas »

100 MHz Unshielded Antenna
100 MHz Unshielded Antenna The 100 MHz unshielded antennas are a general purpose antenna with good penetration depth and fair resolution. Its application range is broad. It is used for river, landfill studies as well as for karst, lake-bottom mapping and deep pipe and bedrock detection.
200 MHz Unshielded Antenna
200 MHz Unshielded Antenna The 200 MHz unshielded antennas give mid-range penetration depth with good resolution. Its application range is broad. It is used for utility detection, bedrock and cavity detection. The compactness of the antenna facilitates surveys in more vegetated terrain.
25 MHz Unshielded Antenna
25 MHz Unshielded Antenna The 25 MHz unshielded antennas are made for deepest possible penetration depths. The light-weight, low frequency 25 MHz antennas are commonly used for geological and stratigraphical surveys in open terrain.
50 MHz Unshielded Antenna
50 MHz Unshielded Antenna The 50 MHz unshielded antennas are designed for moderately deep measurements. The 50 MHz antennas are light-weight and one-man operable, commonly used in geological and geotechnical applications.
